Invasive Skull Base Mucormycosis: New Perspectives PDF Original and Video
The book covers all aspects of rhino-orbito-cerebral mucormycosis (ROCM), also known as COVID-associated mucormycosis (CAM), which was prevalent in India during the second wave of the COVID-19 pandemic. It is based solely on the clinical and surgical experience of Dr. Narayanan Janakiram, a well-known expert in skull base surgery.
The book offers comprehensive information on surgical management of ROCM, with emphasis on central skull base clearance to ensure complete patient recovery. It includes a step-by-step approach utilizing Dr. Janakiram’s unique staging system, with clear-cut surgical approaches for each stage. Endoscopic approaches are recommended for all cases, except for advanced stages where a combined approach is suggested.
Authored by pioneers in the field, the book features a systematic organization of contents, covering basic surgeries to advanced skull base surgery. Clinical coverage of all stages of ROCM is provided according to the Janakiram staging for post-COVID-19 mucormycosis classification. The book also features vivid illustrations, high-definition pictures, and videos for a detailed explanation of surgical steps.
Dr. Narayanan Janakiram, Managing Director of Royal Pearl Group of Hospitals, Tiruchirappalli, Tamil Nadu and Hyderabad, Telangana, India, is an internationally acclaimed expert in skull base surgery.
